28 Aug Rockschool Teacher Summer 2015 Results
The sun is out and the summer results are in! We couldn’t be happier for both the drum teachers and their students. (And if you’re looking for a Rockschool teacher, do contact us for drum lessons!)
Grade 6
Firstly, a gigantic congratulations goes out to Oliver (Southgate) for achieving a huge 93% on his first Rockschool exam. He aimed high and started with grade six after starting drum lessons with his Rockschool teacher through back in January. Just six months later and, after a tonne of hard work, here he is!
The mark is even more impressive as he got 100% (20/20!) on his first piece Mohair Mountain. Oliver also chose the funk track Pop It In The Top and Space Future as his other two pieces. We wish him all the best for his upcoming music A Level exams which are sure to include these pieces. This is a great stepping stone towards Oliver’s eventual aim of passing grade eight to help with his university application. (Drum grades from six to eight often help with further education applications as you can earn those crucial UCAS points). We’ll keep you updated with his progress. Amazing work Oliver!
Grade 1
Congratulations also go to Jonathan (Golders Green) who garnered an impressive 78% (merit) in his grade one exam. Jonathan worked exceptionally hard at preparing for the test in his drum lessons. The exam included All Right Now by Free as his free choice piece. Jonathan also chose West Coast Rollin’ and Ben & Snap as his other two pieces for the test. His drum teacher says he is already hard at work on grade two, whilst also mastering some of the more tricky beats from Tommy Igoe’s Groove Essentials book!
Superb results everyone, well done! And well done to the teachers for continuing to support these students through grade syllabi in their drum lessons.
