Jack Nicholson

Areas covered include Crouch End, Harringey, Hornsey, Muswell Hill, Highgate, Alexandra Palace & surrounding areas.

Over the past ten years, Jack Nicholson has firmly established himself as one of the most in-demand drum tutors in the country.

Raised in Yorkshire, Jack began learning piano at the age of eight before becoming attached to the drum kit whilst studying under Jonathan Marriott at school. At eighteen, Jack departed from playing in groups and local competitions to form a drum school based in Halifax.

Many of Jack’s students in Yorkshire went on to become fully fledged recording and touring musicians, winning both national and international competitions and passing graded exams at the highest level of certification.

Jack moved to London in 2014 and launched North London Drums, becoming one of the leading providers of personalised drum tuition in the north of the city.

Outside of lessons, Jack works as a freelance musician: writing, recording, producing and composing for a wide variety of clients and artists up and down the country. Jack can also be heard on Rod Jones’ (Idlewild) debut release ‘A Sentimental Education’, available worldwide and online.

Az Khan

Areas covered include Stoke Newington, Dalston, Rectory Road, Cannonbury, Stamford Hill (all Overground), Arsenal (Piccadilly Line) and all surrounding areas including Hackney, Islington and Camden.

Az Khan BMus (Hons) is a drummer with years of experience in teaching, recording and live performance. Az won a scholarship to study at Drumtech alongside accomplished musicians before proceeding to complete a Bachelor’s Degree at London College of Music. As a result of musically-focused education he maintains that the most important part of learning a musical instrument is the right teacher.

Az is experienced in teaching a range of abilities and ages, including children with learning disabilities. He has a good knowledge of the RSL syllabus and music theory, with a focus on technique and stylistic awareness.

When he’s not teaching, Az is a multi-instrumentalist and freelance musician. He also enjoys musical comedy and dedicates free time to writing new comedic and musical material.

Luca Romano

Areas covered include Green Lanes (Overground), Manor House/Turnpike Lane (Piccadilly Line) and Harringey.

Luca Romano is a dedicated and passionate drum teacher from Italy with years of experience of both teaching and working in the music industry.

His approach focusses on the individual, allowing them to develop their playing and knowledge of music in a way that suits their learning style, helping to achieve the student’s personal goals with the right tools and teaching methods.

Alongside teaching, Luca has experience both in the studio and on stage as a producer and performer. He has toured internationally with artists including Ten Fé, You Break You Buy, Remote View, Raphael Luther, Spy From Moscow. He holds a BMus (Hons) Degree in Contemporary Music Performance (Institute of Contemporary Music Performance), a degree in Clinical and Educational Psychology, and a RSL Level 6 Diploma in Music Teaching (QFC).
